Where possible:
- Upload the original photograph rather than a screenshot.
- Choose a photo with reasonable lighting and visible facial or subject detail.
- Avoid heavily cropping around the person or pet before uploading.
- Older photographs may still be suitable, especially when the memory matters more than having a technically perfect image.
- Remember that the amount of detail available in the finished artwork depends partly on the quality and detail in the photograph supplied.
If you're choosing between several photos, generally pick the one where the person or pet is easiest to recognise.
